Input system update

Update 2021-03-26:

Completely reworked the internal input system to provide better controller compatibility and easier controller calibration.

This will be most noticeable on Windows machines. Now you should no longer need to set up special endpoints for radios such as the FrSky Taranis etc.

You should now be able to simply use a standard default model setup on your radio (which is especially helpful on some radios which does not have a screen).

Note: If you already have a working controller setup that you are happy with you won't have any benefit from this update, you can just skip downloading it.

If you have been using an older version of Freerider you will probably need to go through the Calibrate Controller procedure in the simulator again. Sorry for this inconvenience. (It is inevitable since the internal workings of the input system is now completely different).

If you have previously needed to use a model with modified endpoints, it is now recommended to going back to using a standard default model setup. That will most likely give the best calibration.

If you have been successfully using FPV Freerider before, but are now having trouble calibrating in this new version, email fpvfreerider@gmail.com

(1 edit)

I am using a FrySky radio (Taranis) to control FPV Freerider Simulator.  I need to control the volume control for the simulator (motor audio).  Suggestion?  My email is richardlitt6@gmail.com. Thanks

question - what is file FPVFreerider_Data file? Thanks

my email is richardlitt6@gmail.com

The FPVFreerider_Data is a folder that contains the necessary files for the simulator.

You can find more general information in the user manual.

where is the FPVFeerider_Data folder stored - i received information from you that this folder contains the necessary files for the simulator

When you download the simulator here on Itch you will receive a zip file.

On Windows, you unzip that file to a folder of your choice.

In that folder, you will then find a FPVFreerider.exe file, which is the executable.

You will also find the user manual, as well as the FPVFreerider_Data folder, in the same place.

Usually you don't need to do anything with the data folder.

When i try to run Calibrate Controller, it does not operate properly - The circles do not move. The Input is USB Controller

The radio is FrSky Taranis Lite, USB Joystick (HID); Left Stick is Throttle Up/Own and Yaw Right/Left; Right Stick is Roll Right/Left and Pitch Up/Down.

This is the second reply I sent for assistance using the FPVFreerider simulator  Calibrate Controller - my email is richardlitt6@gmail.com. Thanks
